Maité Iturri

Maité Iturri, Ed.D. is Superintendent of the Cotati–Rohnert Park Unified School District and a lifelong advocate for educational equity and community well-being. Born and raised in San Francisco in an immigrant, bilingual, and bicultural home, she leads with a deep commitment to access, belonging, and opportunity for every student and family.

A steadfast community leader, Maité serves as Chair of the Springs Municipal Advisory Council (SMAC) and co-founded Food for All/Comida para Todos, a nonprofit that mobilizes neighbors, partners, and resources to provide food and essential supplies across the Springs. She is also a former Adjunct Faculty in the Educational Leadership Program at Sonoma State University, preparing the next generation of equity-minded school leaders.

Before joining CRPUSD, Maité was Assistant Superintendent of Petaluma City Schools and Principal of El Verano Elementary School, where she launched Sonoma Valley’s first school-based Family Resource Center to elevate parent leadership and strengthen whole-child supports. Her work consistently focuses on creating conditions in which parents lead and students thrive.

Maité earned her B.A. in Mexican-American Studies, a Teaching Credential, and an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Sonoma State University. She began her doctoral studies at UC Davis and completed her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at San Francisco State University. Across roles in classrooms, central offices, and community tables, Maité brings a collaborative, bilingual/bicultural lens to bridge schools, families, and local partners in service of student success.
