Carolyn Verheyen

Carolyn Verheyen is a Principal and COO Emeritus of MIG, Inc., a multidisciplinary firm of 250 professionals and 15 offices. In her 37 years of experience at MIG, Carolyn has led organizational development, community service planning, and strategic planning projects for clients of all types.  She is a trusted facilitator, process designer, leadership coach and policy planner, assisting numerous non-profits and public agencies with strategic planning, change management, decision support, and facilitation services. Realms of content expertise include child and family policy and services; social services and social innovation; community health; community identity; parks, recreation, natural resources; and transportation.

Carolyn has led strategic planning processes for several government agencies, foundations, and non-profits, refreshing their sense of purpose and re-focusing their direction. She has helped numerous councils, management teams and boards of directors focus their work at the level of policy and strategy, essential service or synergistic partnerships---whatever can best advance their vision in partnership with the community they serve. Carolyn has successfully guided numerous cross-sector groups in productive work to reach common goals, leveraging what each group does best and optimizing the power of collaboration for systems change. She has assisted various Sonoma County departments in advancing equity, quality, resilience, and well-being through several planning and capacity-building projects, and believes deeply in our community’s shared values, diverse strengths, and intentional future.

A resident of Sonoma Valley, Carolyn is actively involved in Sonoma Impact 100 and The Catalyst Fund. In her spare time, she often plays with her granddaughter, hikes with her husband, and works in her garden, always enjoying the natural beauty of our piece of the earth.
